Christian Kramer and Tine Deckers magnificent winners of the Triathlon L 2017

balance Triathlon L Alpe d'Huez 2017

The 12th edition of the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon L took place in splendid conditions, with 1080 participants on the starting line! Throughout the day, the public was massively present, in the Lac du Verney, whose water temperature was measured at 15.7 degrees, as in the 21 mythical bends of the Alpe d'Huez and the Triathlon Expo. The German Christian Kramer and the Belgian Tine Deckers won the event brilliantly, both taking the lead on the bike… until the finish line. These are the first German and Belgian victories on the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon L. We’d like to mention the bad luck of the Austrian triathlete Thomas Steger, author of a superb race ahead before breaking his saddle in the 21 bends. The Belgian Timothy Van Houtem reiterates his performance of last year with a second place obtained thanks to a great run, in front of the Monegasque Kévin Rundstadler. In women category, Emma Pooley (UK) and Nina Derron (SUI) were too far from Deckers at the end of the bike to chase for the victory. They complete the podium in that order.
