Test products before competing
PowerBar reveals more than 2 months in advance the flavours of the products (PowerGels, Energize Bars and Drink Isoactive) specially selected for you during the Triathlon of Alpe d'Huez. Take advantage of these few weeks to test them during your workouts. Knowing and familiarizing yourself with a nutrition product before the race allows you to assimilate its effects, to appreciate the flavour and to understand what benefits it will offer you on D-Day (leave nothing to chance).

Eat regularly during the race
The 3 PowerBar products will help you to combine fast energy and long lasting energy. It is important to eat regularly and in small amounts so that you don't saturate the stomach that already works through physical effort. This is why the best is to ingest the Energize Bar in small pieces (we recommend 3 pieces). Its main function is to compensate the carbohydrate loss and to provide energy over the long term. We recommend its consumption during transitions and on the bike, situations where you will be more comfortable to eat it.
The PowerGels for hard Times
The liquid consistency of the PowerGels makes it the perfect ally in difficult times, when it is important to have an immediate energy intake. Between its main benefits: a rapid release of energy and an antioxidant effect with the presence of sodium. In addition to the caffeine, the green apple version available on the aidstations boosts your performance, ideal at the end of the course, or in the decisive moments (before the climb of the Alpe d'Huez for example). Important: drinking just after absorption of the PowerGels will help you to assimilate it even faster.
Better to Drink Regularly than too much
Heat is a crucial element to take into account in the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon. Hydration then plays a key role, keeping the energy and mineral reserves at the level needed during your exercise.
The Isoactive beverage available on aidstations combines these two elements. It also offers a slightly pronounced taste to avoid sickness, bars and gels being already sweet.
Drink regularly and in small sips! It is fundamental to let your stomach work little by little and constantly. The hydration should be continuous and well prepared.Take care of your nutrition strategy!
